About the Journal

The African Journal of Public Health and Hygiene (AFJPHH) is an international peer-reviewed, open access journal published Bianually by Bioscience Press. AFJPHH brings scientific findings, new ideas, and opinions on public health and hygiene to a wide audience of scholars, scientists, clinicians and academicians around the globe.

AFJPHH is committed to publishing original research, reviews, meta-analyses, short communications, case studies, policy analyses, perspectives, and evidence-based commentaries that address current and emerging public health challenges. The journal promotes interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together expertise from epidemiology, environmental health, occupational health, nutrition, behavioral sciences, health education, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, and healthcare systems.

The journal upholds rigorous editorial standards, transparent peer-review practices, and internationally recognized publication ethics to ensure the integrity, quality, and scientific value of all published articles. By facilitating the dissemination of innovative research and practical public health solutions, AFJPHH aims to support evidence-informed policies, strengthen healthcare systems, and promote healthier communities worldwide.

All submissions to the African Research Journal of Biosciences are first checked for extensiveness before being sent to an Editor, who decides whether they are suitable for peer review or not. Authors must prepare their manuscripts according to the established guidelines. Failure to follow them may result in papers being rejected. All papers are subjected to double-blind peer review. When making a decision, Editors will consider the peer-reviewed reports. Peer review reports are sent to authors along with the editorial decision on their manuscript. All articles published in this journal represent the opinion of the authors and do not reflect the official policy of the The African Journal of Public Health and Hygiene.

Manuscripts must be solely the work of the author(s) stated, must not have been previously published elsewhere, and must not be under consideration by another journal. All submissions are checked by the journal editorial team to ensure that they conform to the paper requirements outlined on the guidelines to authors page of the journal’s website, such as paper length, the standard of the English language, format of figures and tables, referencing style, etc. are considered. If the submission does not meet the journal’s criteria the submission will be dropped, and the authors asked to resubmit after addressing the issues.

All articles for this journal must be submitted using our online submission system. In case any online issues occurred, submit the paper electronically to editor@afjphh.com.
